The main focus of the regional training course on gender and rural advisory services is currently being held in Accra, Ghana, from May 20 to 22, 2025.
Organized by Coraf – West and Central Africa for Agriculture Research and Development as part of the Food Systems Resilience Program (FRSP WA), and in partnership with FAO, this workshop brings together representatives from across West and Central Africa to rethink how extension services can better include, train, and support rural women.
📌 Why does this matter?
➡️ Because women produce 70% of staple food crops, yet remain underrepresented in access to services, information, and decision-making.
➡️ Because making rural advisory services gender-responsive is key to boosting productivity, improving food security, and strengthening community resilience.

Over three days, participants explore institutional, cultural, and technical levers to close gender gaps through discussions, workshops, and peer exchange, with one clear message: gender must be a strategic driver of transformation, not just a principle.
