Dear young African women, an exceptional opportunity awaits you to boost your career and become development leaders on the continent and beyond! The African Young Women Leaders (AfYWL) Fellowship Programme, a partnership between the African Union Commission (AUC) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), is launching its 4th cohort.
Since 2019, this joint initiative has enabled 95 young African talents to undertake enriching professional assignments within UNDP offices worldwide. These experiences have not only contributed to global development efforts but have also empowered these young women to assert and develop their leadership capabilities.
Are you the next young Woman Leader?
The program is seeking candidates who meet the following criteria:
- Age: Under 30 years old.
- Nationality: Citizen of an African Union member state.
- Education: Holder of a Master’s Degree.
- Professional Experience: A maximum of two years of relevant professional experience.
- Mobility: Ready for a 12-month deployment outside your home country.
An Immersion at the Heart of Global Development
The AfYWL Fellowship Programme offers a stimulating 12-month assignment within UNDP, either at its Headquarters in New York or in one of its regional or country offices. It is important to note that there will be no placements in “hardship locations.” Fellows will receive a monthly stipend to cover accommodation and basic living costs.
